Atlantic Constitution Journal article, “Fallible Legal System Must Avoid Injustice,” by Judge William S. Sessions

In the July 11 edition of the Atlanta Journal Constitution former federal judge and director of the FBI William S. Sessions called for the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles to review the case of death row inmate Troy Anthony Davis and to grant him clemency. Davis was convicted of murdering a police officer more than 15 years ago, and in that time several witnesses have recanted and other witnesses have contradicted previous statements. Additionally, critical physical evidence (such as the murder weapon) was never found, and other witnesses now claim a different man committed the crime.
