David Keene to testify on Habeas before House Armed Services Committee

The House Armed Service Committee, chaired by Representative Ike Skelton (D-MO), will hold a hearing on “Upholding the Principle of Habeas Corpus for Detainees” tomorrow, July 26, 2007, at 9:00 am in Rayburn House Office Building 2118. The Committee will hear from a bipartisan panel of witnesses, including Constitution Project Liberty and Security Committee co-chair David Keene. His testimony is available here. Keene also currently serves as chairman of the American Conservative Union.

Keene is a signer of the “Statement on Restoring the Habeas Corpus Rights Eliminated by the Military Commissions Act” of the Liberty and Security Committee and Coalition to Defend Checks and Balances.
